Whose working for who?
Have you ever worked so hard on something, only to realize it didn’t take you where you wanted to go?
When we spend our energy on the wrong things, valuable time is lost.
In American Culture right now, we are noticing a major shift in how people want to employ themselves. Many want to be their own boss or at least dream about what that is like. The reasons for this are all specific to the individuals’ life work experiences. (So, I won’t try to unravel that).
My point is that many people aren’t feeling bosses right now. A Boss comes with a set of rules and expectations that will be measured. You either fall in line, get fired, or quit. People don’t want to be subjected to that. They want freedom and independence.
Whether you are an employer or a parent you have experienced the agony of a person who does not want to follow the program. But still want all the benefits your leadership has to offer. It can be frustrating.
I once had an employee who gave me so much kickback, that I had to ask Who’s writing the checks here? I don’t like being that person, but we must understand why some employers are so stern and rigid. If you don’t assert yourself the employees will start running the show!
I can only imagine how God feels when we don’t follow His plan. He alone knows what will happen…
