Show me your “work”
We can talk a good game can’t we? If you have any dreams, or desires, and if you’re anything like most people, you talk about them.
We love to share what we’d do if. Where we would go if. But it is our lack of process, our lack of work that prevents us from seeing the things we dream about.
I would dare say that lack of “work” is true for the average believer. It’s like we get saved, and then look to God to do everything with no participation from us.
This could be due to the misapplication of certain scripture in God’s word pertaining to “works”, as in working to earn your salvation. Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is a gift from God, and not of works lest any many should boast.” This reference to “works” is 100 percent fact!
There is nothing that we can do to earn salvation for our souls, because we cannot save ourselves. Jesus paid that price.We either accept the gift or we don’t.
If you accept it, then everything you do after that is in response to the love that Jesus displayed. Our work here is that of faith and love which moves us into action to serve.
Now when it comes to faith, inside of our already paid for salvation, we are going to have to do some work. James 2:14–16 talks about showing your faith by your work. Simply put, you can say all day, that you’re going…
